Ways to Work
Loan Program
Our Ways to Work Program provides low-income families with financial assistance when unexpected expenses threaten to disrupt their lives. This program offers small, short-term loans to parents who cannot get a loan elsewhere so that they can continue to work, support their children and stay in school.
Loans ranging from $500 to $4,000 help families purchase cars, appliances and job-related uniforms and tools. Loans also may be used to cover medical bills or car repairs. Individuals pay back the loans, with interest.
Loans are provided to people who meet certain criteria and have completed a series of interviews and money management classes. Through Ways to Work, Trillium helps families learn fiscal responsibility while moving one step closer to financial independence.
Initiated with the support of the Sisters of Charity Foundation and grants from the State of Ohio, Ways to Work is now funded through a U.S. Department of Transportation grant and a First Merit Bank partnership.
The processing fee assists us in offset of the cost involved in the application and loan closing process. The fee covers interview time, credit report and credit experts being pulled, the Money Management and Credit Workshop curriculum, the personalized household budget, the assistance with purchasing the used car and valuable vehicle research that is provided. If your application is not approved a portion of the processing fee will be rebated to you. The processing fee of $100 is due at the time of application submission. Please contact the Ways to Work Loan Program at 330-454-7066 ext 320 if you have any questions.
